Changes which come with aging can often be very distressing. You notice your skin losing its luster and brightness. Where you once had a flawless complexion, you now notice discolorations and age spots. You also notice your hair is thinning and falling out and initially ignore it, now you dread brushing your hair and you notice more and more loose hairs in the bathroom drain. Your sex life is also falling into the same drain, your libido is down, and you don’t care about getting it on. These changes slowly creep up on you and by the time you take notice of what’s going on, your confidence low, and you start to hide away from the crowd. You no longer want to be notice, because being noticed means someone may notice your flaws.
Your confidence follows suite, and you start to hide away from the crowd.
Your aging does not have to be a disappointment, aging is exciting. It comes with being wise and being able to appreciate life the only way adults can. You appreciate waking up in the mornings, you appreciate having nice clean sheets on your bed, you appreciate a fresh cup of coffee, fine or a good quality chocolate. The act of aging should be exciting and filled with enthusiasm for the joys of the next day. You can age gracefully.
Here are 7 things you can do to improve your confidence.
Be positive – The first thing you should do is to improve your outlook on life. Look for things you enjoy doing, read a book, watch a movie, speak to a loved one, volunteer your time to a course of your choice, go for a walk, go for a swim. You only need to change your mindset and do something different which puts a smile on your face.
Stay hydrated – Drinking water can help increase the water content of your body and keep your skin hydrated. Staying hydrated also flushes out the toxins from your body.
Stop smoking – Smoking increases the number of free radicals and toxins in your body. These free radicals and toxins damage not just your skin, but your heart, lungs, blood vessels.
Avoid excessive sun exposure – Excessive UV rays from the sun is harmful and will prematurely age your skin. Excessive UV rays destroy your skin’s natural collagen and elastin. Elastin and collagen are the substance in your skin which makes your skin firm. Excessive UV rays can also cause you to have early wrinkles, fine line, discolorations on your skin and skin cancer.
Use sunscreen with SPF – I cannot stress the importance of protecting your skin from the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays. If you need to stay out in the sun for prolonged periods of time, remember to use a sun screen with a minimum of 30 SPF.
Eat health – Avoid or decrease the number of processed foods in your diet. Processed foods, excessive sugars, and gluten can cause gut inflammation. Gut inflammation can cause leaky guy syndrome. Leaky gut syndrome can allow unwanted chemicals and particles from your food to reach your skin and age your skin prematurely.
Use the right skin care products – The right skin care products can hydrate and moisturize your skin and prevent your skin from getting dry, crinkling. You may want to take your skin care a bit further and use antiaging skin care products. This can get your skin rejuvenated with the stimulation of collagen and can also diminish your fine lines, wrinkles, undereye bags, discolorations and sagging skin.
Now you know what to do to stop and control premature aging of your skin, it is time to get back your confidence so you can stand out from the crowd.
